Online Session protocols
- Environment: Students should be in a quiet, appropriate, well-lit space.
- Technology: Students must have a working webcam, microphone and a stable internet connection.
- Conduct: The student must be appropriately dressed (casual or smart casual clothes). NO eating is permitted during class, including chewing gum, however students can have a bottle or glass of water beside them if they need it.
Safeguarding and privacy
- For safeguarding purposes, Parent/guardian must be within earshot of the class taking place to oversee/supervise. If classes take place in a bedroom, the door must remain open.
- For students under 18, a parent or guardian must be involved in the booking process.
- Both parties must comply with data protection laws.
- Both parties agree to keep session content and personal information private.
Booking, Payment and Cancellations
- Payments: Fees are required in advance via bank transfer
- Absences: Must be reported before the start of the new term or the lesson will be chargeable, except in extreme unforeseen circumstances (such as; bereavement/emergency) Where an absence is declared before the start of a new term or there has been unforeseen circumstances as stated, the class will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time/day.
- Tuition will be withheld if payment is not made by the deadline on the invoice.
- No shows – if a student is not present within 10 minutes of the start of the lesson the session will be forfeited and charged at the agreed rate.
- Rescheduling – a 24-hour notice period is required for the rescheduling of any lesson. If a student falls ill a lesson credit will be applied to the next term.
- A minimum of 6 weeks notice is required for termination of classes.
- In the event of the tutor cancelling a class, this class will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time – as the tutor is a professional performer it is sometimes necessary to reschedule due to auditions/rehearsals/filming/performing, and we ask for your understanding and flexibility
Roles and Responsibilities
- Tutor responsibilities – tutors will provide pre prepared, professional and punctual lessons
- Academic outcome – tutors do not guarantee specific grades or improvements
- Criteria of entry for LAMDA examinations are based on the students’ ability and will be assessed by the tutor.
- Costumes, props and books must be provided by the parent/guardian/student – a detailed description of what is requires will be provided.
- Homework should be completed as set on each student’s practise sheet and regular rehearsal will be essential.
- Parents/guardians/students must ensure all contact details are kept up to date
- Inspire acting reserves the right to terminate tuition at any time if the lessons are not considered to be beneficial to the student/teacher.
- Inspire acting reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time to accommodate changes in teaching practice
Tuition
- Lessons are provided mainly during term time; however additional classes can be arranged outside of these dates by mutual agreement and will be payable prior to the commencement of the lesson.
- Should we be unable to accommodate your particular time/day lesson request, we can place you on our waiting list.
